The Camino Portugués Litoral Way starts right from the Porto waterfront and follows the coast closely, offering a relaxed and scenic walk along boardwalks, beaches, and charming seaside towns. It’s an easy-to-follow and peaceful route, perfect for those who love the ocean and prefer gentle walking stages with plenty of fresh air and coastal charm. From Pontevedra, pilgrims can also choose to connect with the Spiritual Variant (Variante Espiritual) — a beautiful inland detour through historic villages and lush Galician landscapes, ending with the traditional boat journey that follows the route of Saint James’ remains, adding both a spiritual and unforgettable touch to the coastal Camino.
Something to note is that the Litoral Way is not very well marked. The way is however easy to follow, just keep walking next to the ocean. Use the Google Maps link below or our GPX files to navigate on the Camino with your phone.
