The Odeceixe to Aljezur walk is the longest stage of the Fishermen’s Trail, covering 22.5 km. There is a fair amount of road walking on this stage, although most roads have little traffic. Take care on the main road sections, especially where there is limited space to walk safely. The route has fewer ocean views than some of the coastal stages, but there are still some spectacular viewpoints along the way. Praia de Odeceixe is a beautiful highlight and a great place to stop, with amazing views over the beach and coastline. The Seixe River is another scenic section, although the route follows the road, so extra care is needed. The walk heads inland towards Aljezur, a pleasant historic town and a great place to finish this long day on the Fishermen’s Trail.
