Hello Terry. I can't remember seeing the patches anywhere in Lagos. There are a couple of places along the Fishermen's Trail where you can buy them (Carrapateira, Aljezur and Vila Nova de Milfontes) but not in Lagos.

Do you think it is safe for a couple to do the W trek in Torres del Paine without a guide? And is it easy to find people there that are planning to do the hike the same days (so we could ask them to go together)?

Hello, Eline! We're glad you've found our blog useful for you! Regarding your concern, it's absolutely safe to do the W trek in Torres on your own without a guide, there are no dangerous animals or snakes, rangers patrol the area all the time, the W part has good infrastructure and it's marked well, you won't get lost. If you walk in season between December and March there will be many people in that part of the park including many walking the W trek, you won't be alone at all. You don't need to ask people to team up with you it's very likely you'll see the same hikers every day (as we did) and end up making friends on the way.

Did I feel safe to walk alone?
Where there many groups around you?
Did you sleep alone at night or next to villages / other groups?

Hi, Gal! We were two but I'm sure you'll be fine alone. We didn't see any groups but nowadays this trek is more popular so there might be more people and groups. There were no villages on the trek we camped wherever we found a good spot.
